My Approach to Healing
While studying modalities that work directly with muscles, fascia, and mobility, I also focused on how emotions and attitudes express themselves in the body - particularly in response to pain and trauma.
Trauma comes in many forms and can express itself in just as many ways. I believe how we move through the world emotionally and mentally is deeply connected to how we move physically.
I combine techniques that honor the whole person, creating space for clients to feel heard and seen, and to become active participants in their healing rather than bystanders.

RACHEL BOURKE
I am a licensed massage therapist practicing trauma-informed bodywork in the Brentwood and Nashville area. I graduated from the Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies in 2015 and have continued my education in ways that support a trauma-informed approach.
Through my own experiences with chronic pain and tension that seemed to arise without explanation, as well as witnessing loved ones navigate undiagnosable pain, I became deeply aware of the frustration and stress that often accompany ongoing discomfort.
This led me to focus on bodywork techniques that address chronic and seemingly unexplained pain by honoring the body as a whole - physical, emotional, and mental.

“Lasting relief comes through listening to the body and allowing it to be part of the conversation.”
Rachel’s Journey
A journey rooted in listening to the body.
Rachel’s work is deeply informed by her own experiences with chronic pain and healing. Through pregnancy, long-term discomfort, and years of learning to listen to her body, she discovered that pain is often more than a physical issue, and it can be meaningful information asking for attention and care. This perspective shapes her trauma-informed approach to bodywork today, where clients are supported as active participants in their healing, rather than passive recipients of treatment.
